Alaskan Klee Kai - The Alaskan Klee Kai is an Arctic breed which is a bit smaller than the Alaskan Husky. However, these dogs have an appearance which is very similar. These dogs will have a maximum weight of about 40 pounds, and they will be broken down into three size variations. While there are three colors that are acceptable, the most common coat colors are black, white, and gray. Like many Arctic breeds, these dogs should have ears that are erect with a triangular shape. Their tails should be bushy, and their coats will be extensive to protect them in cold environments. This is a relatively recent breed that was first created during the 1970s. They are mixed with well known Arctic dogs such as the Siberian Husky.The popularity of these dogs are growing, and their numbers have continued to grow since they were first introduced. These dogs were primarily bred to be pets. A mother Alaskan Klee Kai may give birth to a maximum of three puppies.

Temperament
This dog is known for having extensive amounts of energy. Because of this, these dogs may not be good pets for everyone. Despite this, if these dogs are purchased by the right owners, they can make excellent pets. While they are cheerful, they may be wary around people they are not familiar with. For the most part, the Alaskan Klee Kai is a docile breed.
Health Problems
This breed is healthy and does not suffer from a large number of genetic disorders. Any health problems they have are common with other dog breeds. This dog will have a maximum life expectancy of 14 years.
Exercise
While this breed will need large amounts of exercise, they do not need as much as larger Arctic breeds such as the Alaskan or Siberian Husky. Owners will want to take them for long walks when they need it, and they may also allow them to run free in an open area. These dogs have a moderate size that makes them good for apartment dwellers, but they will function best in a smaller yard. Owners will want to make sure they are not exposed to large amounts of sunlight during the summer months.
Special Grooming Needs
The Alaskan Klee Kai will need standard amounts of grooming. Owners will want to make sure the coat is either brushed or combed on a consistent basis, and these dogs will shed an average amount of fur.
